I have been unable to find whole Oco geodes that are hollow recently, but I was able to acquire a bunch of these beautiful geode halves of which 1 half will be sent for FREE with every Geode Box order. **NOTE - due to supply issues I have removed the La Perla geodes from this set and have replaced it with a Las Choyas Coconut Geode, also from Mexico. Pictures still show the La Perla but the list below is accurate and appropriately shows the change. Geode sizes - Keokuk and Sugar geodes will be approximately 1-2 inches in size. Put geode into an old sock or wrap in a towel. Start hitting it gently with a hammer, increasing force as needed to break through the outer crust to expose the crystals within. You may have success in getting larger/equal halves when breaking by turning the geode as you hit with the hammer along a vertical line to weaken the breaking points along a straight line, but this does take some practice. Additionally, you could try sawing the geodes in half with a diamond bladed wet saw. Due to the individual nature of geodes, we cannot accept returns for this item. These geodes will be hollow or have a hollow cavity at least 95% of the time but this does mean that there is a chance one in your batch will not be hollow. Particularly the Amethyst geodes do not have a large hollow cavity, but will usually break apart along druzy amethyst seams.
